How to use Sign Up Flow when your ESP is not supported, via Zapier

Written by Manuel Frigerio

If your ESP is supported by SparkLoop, you can add the widget to your website in a few minutes.

If your EPS is not supported, worry not: you might still be able to use Sign Up Flow, and earn money, by using Zapier.

Here's a 2:30 minutes video about the process:

Request access

After you signup, request access to a custom integration. You can do that by contacting us at support@sparkloop.app.

Set up the Zap

After you have been given access, complete your SparkLoop account setup.

Then go to Zapier to create a new zap.

For the sake of this tutorial I'm going to use CakeMail, but you can use any ESP that has a Zapier integration.

Note: the most important thing is that the ESP you want to use has a Zapier trigger when a contact/subscriber is created. If your ESP doesn't have this trigger in Zapier, the integration will not work.

Step 1

Add a trigger when a new contact/subscriber is created.

Depending on your ESP, you might have to select a list. Complete the setup of the trigger, until it's tested.

Step 2

As action, choose "Webhooks by Zapier" and as "event" choose POST.

Note: you must be on a Zapier paid account to use this action.

Step 3

In the URL field, enter your "Incoming webhook" URL which you can find in your Integrations page.

Choose "form" from the "Payload Type" dropdown.

The in the "Data" section, create two fields:

  1. a field called type with value subscribe

  2. a field called subscriber__email (note the double underscores) with value the email address of the contact/subscriber you get from the trigger step

Leave the rest as it is.

It should look something like this

Step 4

Save your changes, test the action and publish your zap.
