Reward fulfilment with Printful

Automate your swag and physical reward fulfilment using Printful.

If you’re offering swag to your readers and customers, you’re probably familiar with Printful.

Printful is an on-demand printing and fulfilment company that will help you create physical products, such as t-shirts, caps, hoodies, mugs, etc., as well as fulfil and ship the orders.

With our SparkLoop integration, you can connect Printful to your referral program and not only offer physical rewards, but automate their fulfilment.

Create and connect your Printful account

There are three important steps:

  1. Create your Printful account.

  2. Create a Manual / API store.

  3. Connect your Printful account to SparkLoop.

If you don’t already have a Printful account, you can create one by clicking here.

Once you’re in your Printful account, click on Stores in the left-hand menu and create a new store.

You’ll need to create a new store for SparkLoop, even if you have existing stores and products in Printful. The type of store we want to create for this integration is Manual order platform / API.

Click on Create and give your store a name.

Once you’ve created your store, we can start adding products to it.

If you already have products in your Printful account, go to the My product templates tab and select your products. If you don’t, select New products and start designing!

Once you’ve finished creating your product, you’ll be asked to give a name and price.

⚠️ Make sure the Retail Price is the same as the Printful Price so you don’t end up charging yourself extra for the product.

Use this process to add as many products as you need in your Printful store.

Once you’re done, go back to SparkLoop and click on Connect Printful. You’ll be taken to the Integrations page. Click on Connect existing Printful account.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Make sure to choose the store you've just created.

Click on Authorize.

Your Printful account is now connected to SparkLoop.

Using Printful for reward fulfilment

Here’s how to set up reward fulfilment using Printful:

1. Head over to the Rewards page and click on Activate this reward by adding fulfilment.

2. On the fulfilment page, select Printful and you will see a drop-down menu with your Printful products automatically listed for you.

3. Select the specific product you want to associate with this reward.

Collecting customer details

When someone wins this reward, you want to send them to a page where SparkLoop can collect shipping details, such as their name, address, telephone number, and even product preferences (size, color, etc.)

The page where SparkLoop collects these details is called Reward Collection Page.

To see what it looks like, head over to Settings, scroll down to the Printful Integrations section, and click on the here link.

⚠️ NOTE: This section is only visible if you have at least one reward that uses Printful.

When you click on Collection Page Preview, you’ll be able to see what this page will look like to your subscriber. Everything on this page is customizable, including the copy.

Fulfilment to specific countries

If you don’t want to ship worldwide or if your audience is in a specific country, you can change your settings to reflect that.

On the settings for the Reward Collection Page, deselect Ship worldwide. When you do, you’ll be able to input the countries you want to ship to.

Small note to customers

Another option you’ll find on this page is the Packing slip.

This is a small thank you note that is automatically added to everything that is shipped by Printful. You can customize this message and provide a customer service email or phone number.

Click save and return to the Rewards page.

Sending reward emails

Now that the rewards are set up, we want to make sure that advocates who’ve won them know how to collect them.

When it comes to sending reward emails, you have two options.

1. You can send an automated email via SparkLoop.

2. You can send your own customized email through your ESP.

Please note: If you use the SparkLoop reward email, you need to make sure you add a Collection Page link merge tag in your email body. For example:

When SparkLoop sends this email, it will automatically replace the merge tag with the actual link to the collection page.

When you’re done, click on Save and Activate.

Your reward is now live and ready to be fulfilled.

Disconnecting Printful

If you need to disconnect your Printful for whatever reason (for example you might want to connect a different store), head over to the Integrations Page in your account and disconnect your integration with Printful from there.
