How to set up an automated email sequence for reward notification and delivery

Written by Luana

🔒 This feature is available to Kit customers and users with an existing Referral Program.

The reward email is sent to subscribers when they win a reward to let them know how they can access it.

⚠️ This email is a fantastic opportunity to foster engagement and motivate your subscribers to keep inviting friends.

There are two options available to you for sending reward emails:

Send an automated email via SparkLoop

If you'd like SparkLoop to trigger a reward email automatically each time a reward is won, you can set that up on the reward fulfilment page. Make sure to fill in the Subject and use merge tags in the body with links, coupon codes, and other details they need to access the reward.

Send an automated email via your ESP

If you'd rather use your ESP to send your reward emails (for your newsletter template or more customization), select this option.

What to say in the email

Thank your subscriber for referring their friends and congratulate them for earning the reward. This email is also a great opportunity to foster engagement and motivate your subscribers to keep inviting friends.

⚠️ If there are other rewards they can win after this, mention them in this email! E.g.: "FYI—you're only 2 referrals away from receiving X."

How to send the reward email

Create an automation triggered when the custom field RH_TOTREF changes to the number of referrals needed to win a reward. For example, if you have a reward that requires 3 referrals, set the trigger to when RH_TOTREF changes to 3.
