How to send your advocates the rewards they've earned

You've created your reward. You've added a snazzy image to entice your advocates to share their referral links. And now it's time to make sure that when those referrals come flooding in, your advocates are not only rewarded quickly, but automatically.

The reward fulfilment page is where we set all this up.

When you create a reward, you are automatically taken to the fulfilment page. There, you can select how you'll get it to your advocates.

Here's what you'll find on the fulfilment page.

Step 1: Select fulfilment options

When it comes to the ways you can fulfil the rewards, you have a variety of options to choose from.

Select one of the following:

Link/Download:

This is the option to choose if you're offering a module of a digital course, an ebook, or a pdf report. Any digital download falls under this category.

To fulfil this reward, simply include the download link or the steps to access this reward in your automated reward email. (More on that below.)

Generic Coupon:

(To understand the different types of coupons, when to use which, and detailed instructions on how to set them up, click here.)

A generic coupon is a single, reusable coupon code sent to every winner.

This is a good option if you’re not worried about subscribers sharing their coupon code, or if the platform that hosts your reward checkout doesn't support the generation of multiple unique coupon codes.

When you select this option, you will see a field where you can enter your coupon code.

If you're using coupon codes, make sure to include them in your automated reward emails by using the following merge tags:

  • In a SparkLoop email: {{coupon}}

  • In an email sent via your ESP, use the merge tag associated with the RH_COUPON custom field.

To find the correct merge tag for your ESP, go the Integration settings for your ESP here.

Unique Coupon:

Unique coupon codes allow you to send single-use coupon codes that are unique to every subscriber who wins a reward.

This means you don't have to worry about people sharing coupon codes with their friends!

On selecting this option from the drop-down menu, you will see a button to Select a CSV file.

Printful:

SparkLoop's Printful integration makes fulfilling physical rewards a breeze. T-shirts, mugs, hoodies–anything you have in a Printful store can be used as a reward for your advocates.

When you select this option, you'll be asked to connect your Printful account.

Custom/Zapier (digital rewards):

If you'd like to set up your custom reward fulfilment of digital rewards (where you don't need to collect the shipping address) using Zapier or our API, this is the option you'd select to do that.

⚠️ Custom rewards via Zapier or our API are available on our Creator plan and above.

Custom/Zapier (physical rewards):

If you want to automate fulfilment of physical rewards, for which you need to collect details like the shipping address and sizing/styling options, you can do so using our "Custom/Zapier (collect shipping address)" fulfilment method.

Manual:

And finally, this is the selection to make if you've decided to handle the fulfilment of this reward manually, or if you need subscribers to get in touch with you to claim their reward, for instance, if you're offering personalized rewards, such as time with you or a special invitation to an event.

Make sure to set up automated emails in Step 2 below, instructing your advocates on what they need to do in order to claim their reward.

Step 2: Implement reward emails

The reward email is sent to subscribers when they win a reward to let them know how they can access it.

The first thing you want to do in this email is thank your subscriber for referring their friends, and congratulate them for earning the reward.

Here, you might also want to talk a bit about the reward.

⚠️ This email is a fantastic opportunity to foster engagement and motivate your subscribers to keep inviting friends.

There are two options available to you for sending reward emails:

Send an automated email via SparkLoop

If you'd like SparkLoop to trigger a reward email automatically each time a reward is won, you can set that up here.

Make sure to fill in the Subject and use merge tags in the body of the email, with links, coupon codes, and other details they need to access the reward.

Send an automated email via your ESP

If you'd rather use your ESP to send your reward emails, perhaps because you want to use your newsletter template or because you need more customization options, then you can do so by selecting this option.

Activating your reward

By default, your reward is saved as a draft. In order for it to be live and ready to send, you need to activate it.

You'll be able to do so once you've chosen fulfilment options and decided on how you'll send your reward emails.
