If you're switching to a new ESP, your SparkLoop account needs to be migrated too. This is a manual process handled by our support team — you can't do it yourself directly.
Here's exactly how it works.
The 3-step process
You reach out to support. Tell us your current ESP, your new ESP, and which SparkLoop features you're using. We'll check whether your situation qualifies for a migration.
We check if your new ESP is supported. If it's on our supported list, great. If not, you'll need to use a custom integration, which requires development work on your side.
We confirm the details and send you next steps. Once everything checks out, we'll confirm you're aware of the rules, coordinate a migration date, and send you the link to formally submit your request.
To get started, contact our support team with your current ESP, your new ESP, and which SparkLoop features you're using (referral program, partner program, free recommendations, Signup Flow, etc.).
Can I get a migration?
Not every account qualifies. Here's what to know before reaching out:
You can only migrate once. This is a manual, irreversible process. Don't request a migration until you're certain about the move.
Free recommendations only. If you're only using free recommendations (not paid recommendations or a referral program), you can't apply for a migration.
Running a partner program. You'll need to pause your program and wait for the full screening period to pass before we can migrate. Apply at least one week before your pause period ends.
Approved for paid recommendations. Migration is only possible if you already have active recommendations and you're not changing your newsletter — just the tool you send it with.
Haven't set anything up yet. Easy — we'll disconnect your current ESP, ask you to connect the new one, and adapt your account.
Is my new ESP supported?
Check the full list of ESPs and supported features before reaching out. This will save time in the conversation.
⚠️ If you're migrating to Beehiiv or Brevo, you will lose access to your referral programs as these ESPs are missing basic functionality required to support them.
If your new ESP isn't on the supported list, you may still be able to use SparkLoop via a custom integration — but this requires development work on your side and we can't provide dev support.
How long does it take?
You'll need to request your migration at least one week in advance. More complex migrations — where you're moving between different types of ESPs, or have multiple lists connected — may take longer and we'll give you an estimate.
ESP differences to be aware of
ESPs handle subscribers differently. Moving between categories can affect your subscriber counts if you have more than one program connected.
Single list ESPs: ConvertKit, MailerLite, Drip, Beehiiv
Multiple lists, unique subscribers: Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor, AWeber, EmailOctopus, GetResponse
Multiple lists, overlapping subscribers: ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, Klaviyo, PostUp, Sailthru, SendGrid, Customer.io, Marketo, Brevo
If your current and new ESP are in the same category, the migration is simpler. If not, our team will walk you through what to expect.
