How to add an offer or recommendation to your Welcome Survey

Promote a lead offer or a newsletter recommendation right inside your Welcome Survey, to every subscriber or only to those who give a certain answer.

Written by Luana

You can now place an offer or a newsletter recommendation directly inside your SparkLoop Welcome Survey. Subscribers opt in with a single tick, and you earn just as you would on your offers page or recommendations step.

Step 1: Add a promotion block

  1. Go to Tools → Signup Flow → Edit Flow and open your Welcome Survey.

  2. Click the button to add a question or promotion, then choose to promote a lead offer or a recommendation.

  3. Pick an offer or recommendation you already promote, or add a new one from the directory without leaving the editor.

Note: You can add lead (CPL) offers and newsletter recommendations, both free and paid. Click and action offers send subscribers to another page, so they don't work inside a survey and won't appear in the list. New to offers? See Offers: A Complete Guide.

Step 2: Choose when it shows

By default, the promotion shows to every subscriber. To show it only to some subscribers, turn on Show conditionally, then pick a question and the answer that should reveal it. This works exactly like conditional questions.

Example: show a marketing tool offer only when a subscriber answers "Marketer" to "What's your role?"

Step 3: Position it

Your promotion appears in the survey's block list alongside your questions. Reorder, edit or remove it like any other block.

Conditional promotions stay under the question that triggers them.

Each promotion block holds one offer or recommendation. A survey can hold up to 15 items in total.

What subscribers see

The promotion shows as a card with the brand's logo, its title and description, and an unticked checkbox. Subscribers can tick, untick or ignore it, then continue the survey.

Nothing is claimed until they submit the survey. If they leave halfway, nothing is sent.

How it works with the rest of your signup flow

  • No duplicates. Anything a subscriber claims in the survey won't show again on your offers page.

  • No empty pages. If a subscriber claims every available offer in the survey, the offers page is skipped and they move to the next step.

  • Only when available. If a promotion isn't available for a subscriber, the card simply doesn't appear. See Why are my Signup Flow recommendations not showing up?

  • Tracked like everything else. Impressions and claims count in your stats, and the survey card in your signup flow dashboard now shows the projected earnings, referrals and claims your promotions drive.

If an offer you picked becomes unavailable, we flag it in the survey editor so you can swap it out.

Frequently asked questions

Will this hurt my survey completion rate?

Promotions are opt-in and never block submission, but any extra element adds some weight. Keep an eye on your completion rate after adding one, and use conditional display to show promotions only to subscribers who'll find them relevant.

Will it take earnings away from my offers page?

Some claims may move earlier in the flow. What matters is your total earnings across the whole signup flow. Watch both the survey and offers page numbers in your dashboard.

Can I show a promotion based on more than one answer?

Not yet. Each conditional promotion is triggered by one answer to one question, the same as conditional follow-up questions.

Can I add free recommendations?

Yes. Both paid and free recommendations can be added. You only earn from paid recommendations and offers. See How to manage recommendations in Signup Flow.

Do I need to be in the Partner Network?

Not to add promotions: you can add free recommendations without it. To earn from offers and paid recommendations, you need to be approved to the Partner Network. See How to join the Partner Network.
